|------------------------------------------------------------------ | T P 2 x Release 20.2 | Juli 2022 | Copyright by IGF Pfullingen, Germany | All Rights Reserved |------------------------------------------------------------------ >>> for German and Chinese language please scroll down >>> ÖÐÎÄ°æÇëÍùÏ For design optimization by computer simulation the Finite Element Method (FEM) is the most important tool for engineers! Using TP2x you have a tool for all engineers not only for such with a lot of experiences including students. It is free of charge until a limit of 30.000 nodes and elements and supports all important extensions for research and industry professional applications called apps. For larger models you need a yearly licence for basic functionality and necessary apps. The complete source code is available by additional contract. Worldwide for Universities TP2x is free of charge. Based on experience of about 50 years in development and application especially on the development of the most successful German FEM program TPS10 (since 1971) the IGF Pfullingen team Prof. Peter Groth (Team leader) Prof. Helmut Faiss Dr.-habil Horst Parisch developed the successor system TP2x since 1996. The further development is based on a partnership with the payerconsulting team in Graz Austria and additional scientists. TP2x belongs to the new generation of FEM programs with following characteristics: * The price of the software is no argument against the usage of the method. * Available for all current hardware. Win10/11 64 bit and LINUX 64 bit Cluster including parallel processing * The application is possible for user with a few experiences only because TP2x is a knowledge based software (for research and education). The error messages and warnings are understandable and allow you a perfect quality management of the results interpretation. * Your results are correct if no error messages or warnings appears on screen window during the run. You can follow the procedure directly on screen. * A collection of more then 150 examples for all possible application cases will support you as a beginner. The user manual is available as online help. * TP2x is full integrated in a Pre- and postprocessor (eFEA, FEMAP*) and MEDINA*)) including geometry interfaces for all important CAD programs. A comfortable standard input language inluding 3D mesh generation and pre-post line plots*). The input/output format is identical to TPS10 including step names. The software intelligence is the main advantage of TP2x i.e. best quality management of results and simple handling. For a run you need the model input only with nodal coordinates, element data with properties and material, constraints and loads in different formats: (TP2x-FRE and eFEA-XFE, FEMAP-FMP (Neutral file) and MEDINA and ANSA BIF/BOF Format) Additional input as job control is substituted by an option file (opt2000.opt) defined with standard default values extended by include file *.zus. You start the program and select an analysis type only, e.g. Linear Statics or via special batch job procedure from eFEA. A batch procedure is available. Basic functionality of TP2x |------------------------------------------------------ # linear statics with contact*) and friction*) ----------------------------------------- - modern element library incl. composite elements - all types of loads - all types of constraints and boundary conditions - equations - realistic screw prestressing - no load case limitation - weight / stiffness optimization # nonlinear statics with contact*) and friction*) ----------------------------------------- - large deformation with contact*) and nonlinear material incl. rubber - coupling at ESPI*) (Laser Measurement Technique) with completion of non measured displacements at 3D structures, stress calculation incl. yield and residual stresses # steady state potential problems ----------------------------------------- - temperature field (convection, radiation, film conditions*)) with direct loop to linear and nonlinear statics with contact*) - phase changing (melt, cooling)*) - laminar flow - electrical field incl. BEM/FEM*) coupling to statics - magnetic fields*) - acoustics incl. local sound damping*) # non steady state (transient) potential problems*) ----------------------------------------- - temperature field with contact (convection, radiation, film conditions) with direct coupling to statics - automatically time step controlling # linear dynamics ----------------------------------------- - eigenfrequencies and -values - modal excitation incl. base point for earthquake - material damping and local dampers - force excitation at selected nodes or elements*) - fluidic damping at squeeze film (sensors)*) |------------------------------------------------------ # user interface: Full windows structure with mouse selection of project files and options in eFEA. In wikonfig.tp you can configure your windows. Warnings on screen are extended by user recommendations. In case of warnings or errors an additional window appears to show the report file *.prt. # optimized data management: - TP2x-10.1 with parameterized limits will request about min. 700 MB memory, to run models with max. 5 mio nodes ans elements. The used memory (RAM) is depend on the model controlled by Option(1) = user defined memory to reduce the run time. With this up-to-date data management TP2x is ready for the future! - singularities based on 5 DOFs shell elements are eliminated automatically to increase the robustness of the program. - all internal values are now in double precision (64 bit). - at thermo-mechanical loop is of the calculated temperatures are valid for all elemental nodes (incl. mid-side nodes). # gliding and static friction:*) Contact on node pairs is available for linear statics and nonlinear statics at contact region with gliding and/or static friction. Master / Slave contact between nodes and element edges or surfaces is available. TP2x checks the deformation direction automatically and decided between gliding or static friction*). For 2 different regions you can select different input values via option file. To define the contact conditions you have only to define the two node groups, the local coordinate system for contact direction and the type of contact via keyword in eFEA, FEMAP or MEDINA. # for the contact iteration*) there are 2 procedures available to get the runtime minimum. If the number of contact nodes is less then about 5% the procedure with variable conditions (VS=1) is recommended. If it is more use procedure with fixed conditions (VS=0). Now you can use cone/cone (valve) contact and the real gap geometry on contact surfaces for each type of contact*) or master/slave contact. # For nonlinear statics the geometrical stiffness matrix*) is used now for all elements. # Based on the geometrical stiffness matrix stability problems*) as eigenvalue problem are solved now under pressure loads for load case 1. Results are the critical load factors and the related buckling shape. # Additional you can use a selected load case for prestressing with a stiffening effect in statics and dynamics. # Based on electrical fields you get mechanical forces on the boundary or the surface only. To calculate these forces exactly you need a mesh with very small elements on top. That`s very expensive. The best solution is to use the BEM to calculate these forces. This is now available in TP2x*). In case of contact problems no remesh in air gap is necessary because there are no elements between the gap. The BEM*) / FEM coupling is available for 2D and axisymmetric elements for linear an nonlinear problems connected with electrical fields and contact. # At dynamical problems of micro system devices the squeeze film damping*) is important. TP2x calculates the damping values for each eigenvalue to use it in an additional run. # Measured deformations for large (car body) or very small 2D or 3D structures (micro system devices) using ESPI*) (laser measurement technique) can be transferred directly via MATLAB interface to TP2x to calculate none measured displacements and the full stress field incl. yield and residual stresses. > Out-of-plane data are processed as forced displacements in 3 directions to get 3D-deformation of a shell structure > In-plane data are processed full automatically now including post processing of results view and animation. For out-of-plane the same exception the model formulation. For post processor control see option-file Opt.(23-26). # Manual as pdf-file with about 500 pages (German and English) with connection to the example library helpstat, helpnoli, helppoti and helpdyna via help in TP2x. # Modeling: > The sector angle at axisymmetric elements is not more defined as fix = 0,1 rad. You can define it now via Opt.(21). If Opt.(21) = 0. default angle of 0.1 rad is valid. > You can start eFEA and FEMAP post processing automatically with Opt.(23-26) after a successful TP2x run. > forced displacements / rotations are processed now variable (VS=1) with load set-ID = 99 (as necessary for additional node masses). For nonlinear calculation this type is allowed only. Or processed as fix (VS=0) with all set numbers. > At forced displacements as equation DOF = deformation you can process these conditions as variable (VS=1) or non variable (fix VS=0). # Program control: > At nonlinear calculation you can change the sign of forced displacements via Opt.(188-190) 3 times (load and unload). > Opt.(89) 3=as 1 and 4=as 2, additional stress output on mid-side nodes. At 1 and 2 no stress output. > At nonlinear calculation an full output after each load step Multi-Set-Animation is possible now. Therefore the additional output of deformation after each load step as before is not necessary. # BEM*)/ FEM loop: > For 2D full available including stop on rigid boundary or surface. # MEDINA BIF/BOF interface on PC under Windows/Linux: TP2x reads name.bif and writes name.bof now, if no Standard model file (name.fmp, name.neu, name.fre or name.xfe) is defined. The bof output is to define via option-file Opt.(88) = -1 / -2. Interface description see /Wtp2000/Tp2000/MEDI_Tp2000.txt. # Temperature field with contact*) and coupling to linear statics with contact, if mechanical contact is open the loop is repeated with open thermal contact for the same node pairs with Opt.(29) = 1. With Opt.(27) = i all load cases 1-i are used at contact calculation. Examples : ...\Examples\Poti\besteko, bspoti # Modern Radial-Return method*) for nonlinear problems with solid and axisymmetric and shell elements. - with large deformations and large strains - von Mises yield law with isotropic or kinematical hardening (Bauschinger effect) - improved implicit algorithm for load step control, procedure control via Opt.(186) = 1 new nonlinear algorithm and Opt.(187) = 0/1 linear or nonlinear yield law (von Mises) Opt.(188-189) change load direction on deformation load, full unload, at 3 selectable steps (load and unload). - if the stiffness matrix is not positive definite the Gaussian equation solver is used instead of Cholesky with a remark.
